Black isn’t boring, you are

If head-to-toe black feels intimidating, read on

For a long time, I felt bad wearing black on repeat — like it had to mean something dramatic, or worse, funeral vibes. But now? Watch me wear black all the time. It suits us best. It’s the shortcut. The secret formula: when you don’t know what to wear, wear black. It goes with everything.

The trick isn’t styling one black item. The trick is wearing a black uniform without looking boring. Here’s how to make it work:

1. Start with good basics.
A cashmere sweater, a turtleneck (obsessed with Alexandra Golovanoff or the Le Bon Marché ones in Paris), a sharp black shirt (my dream one is from Rubirosas Paris), and a blazer (vintage Max Mara or Boss usually kill it). Stop by the vintage store “Treize” 75007 but pshtt secret spot. That’s your foundation. For the pants I am still on the hunt but Nili Lotan trousers are on the xmas wishlist…and not to forget Filippa K is always a good idea ;)

2. Play with textures.
Velvet with a shiny blazer. A cotton shirt with leather trousers. Fringes layered on wool. Cashmere with anything. Black isn’t flat when the fabrics aren’t.

3. Layer like you mean it.
A fringe jacket under a long coat. Pants tucked into boots. Different lengths stacked together. Don’t be scared of “too much” — it usually turns out just right.

  • Long coats, long skirts, short blazers, scarves etc the more layers the nicer it gets.

4. Accessorize with intention.
A brooch. Gold jewelry, or mix and match. Kroon02 has the best. A silky bra peeking from under a shirt. A hat — right now I love Soeur’s wool hats. Small tweaks that turn black into a story.

And that’s the recipe. A black outfit can be chic, dramatic, casual, whatever you want — as long as you give it texture, layers, and a little personality.

If colors scare you (they scare me more), black is the safest bet — but only if you master the art of wearing it well.

Wear black, repeat, don’t apologize.

or just a good hair day, ballerina with heels, turtle neck and flared pants many many options
